New device setup & file transfers in the Northern Rivers
Start using your new computer, phone or tablet with help setting it up around your needs. We can assist with moving accessible files, photos and contacts from a working old device and explain the new setup.
A transfer is easier to plan when we know both devices and what needs to move. Tell us whether you need documents, photos, contacts, email or particular applications. Different systems do not always transfer everything automatically, so we will discuss what is practical before proceeding.
How we can help
- Set up a new laptop, desktop computer, phone or tablet.
- Transfer accessible documents, photos and contacts between compatible devices.
- Reconnect email and install compatible, licensed applications.
- Discuss backups and help you check that important files are available.
Before your visit
Keep both devices, their chargers and any backup drive available. Avoid resetting or disposing of the old device before checking the transferred files. Tell us approximately how much data needs to move.
What this service covers
Large transfers can take longer than the first hour and may be limited by device speed or compatibility. We discuss additional time before proceeding. Recovery from failed or damaged storage requires specialist assessment.
Home visits and pricing
A standard visit is AU$149, including the call-out and the first hour. Additional time is AU$32.50 per 30 minutes, discussed before proceeding.
We visit homes in Ballina, Lennox Head, Byron Bay, Ocean Shores, Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby and nearby Northern Rivers communities. Evening and weekend appointments are available by arrangement.

Not always. Files can often be copied, but applications may need reinstalling and some licences or older programs may not work on the new device. We will help identify these issues before making changes.
