Wi-Fi not reaching every room?
A connection that works beside the router but struggles in a bedroom needs a different investigation from an internet service that is down everywhere. A few comparisons can help you describe the problem before paying for new equipment.
1. Compare two locations
Using the same device, try the same ordinary task near the router and then in the room where you have trouble. Avoid moving between Wi-Fi and mobile data during the comparison. Write down whether the problem changes with location or happens everywhere.
2. Look at the router's position
A router tucked in a cupboard or behind large objects may struggle to cover the home. Where your existing connections allow, place it in an open, elevated position closer to where you use your devices. Do not move fixed nbn equipment or alter wall cabling yourself.
3. Compare another device
If one device struggles but another works in the same room, investigate that device before buying a range extender. If multiple devices struggle in the same area, coverage may be part of the problem. A mesh system can help some homes, but placement, compatibility and the connection feeding it still matter.
Know when to contact your internet provider
If the connection fails throughout the house, check your provider's outage information and follow their connection checks. A better router cannot repair a provider outage. Contact your internet provider for line faults, service activation and nbn network issues.
